Geological heritage
Geological heritage (sometimes referred to as geo-heritage) describes natural geological or geomorphological features that have intrinsic aesthetic, scientific or educational value, in particular they provide insights into past geological processes that affected the formation or evolution of the Earth. Well known geo-heritage sites include Ayers Rock (or Uluru) in Australia, the Teide volcano in Tenerife or one of the 9 sites across Indonesia that have been declared part of the region's geo-heritage.
